The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 7/10 就有点stranger things x IT的感觉。可圈可点。

离谱！离大谱！！再也不看披着讲精彩故事外衣的私货观点电影！！！
怪奇物语的风格，孤独版的小丑回魂，前面有点意思，男主进入密室之后剧情就有点让人捉急了。小女孩飙脏话挺厉害，以为会去救哥哥呢。
积极的意义，在于五个受害者接力，第六个终于完成反杀，虽然不合逻辑，但是恶人当受此报。
什么玩意？犯罪片不算犯罪片，灵异片不算灵异片，反正我是没看到亮点在哪里，基本的氛围都没烘托起来
强设定➕弱节奏，让故事有点飘忽，还有看起来似乎没什么必要的亲子关系设定，以及结尾的各种突变，比如Fenn的战斗力，Grabber的心态，父亲的忏悔等等。
节奏铺陈略显沉闷，室内解密逃生，室外追查支线等方式割裂感较严重且互动观感不佳，至男主与反派对峙时才真正意义上让观者大呼痛快，为本片昏昏欲睡的前半部打入一剂猛药达到回春效果。
电话这个设计还挺好的，不过还是太单薄啊……
在配乐上确实加强了观感。歌曲本身自带的年代感以及后几段的诡秘感让这个带点小奇幻的惊悚片有了一丝亮点。这种剧情本身的模板是挺常见的，但我觉得其实本身就没有黑色电话打进来过，更像是芬尼为了自救想尽一切办法而产生的幻觉？当然只是一种想法。但怎么说伊桑·霍克出演的角色真的好水...还有种见光死的感觉，没有面具就会害怕。但怎么想，掳童犯居然是被芬尼的计谋搞死的，自己大意是一回事，难道芬尼比罗宾强吗？还是之前的都没来得及反抗就被杀害了啊？最后一段是本片精华了。
扯蛋的地方过多，胜在节奏紧凑、调度还行和氛围稍微到位。
原来是斯蒂芬金儿子的故事，还是有些意思，如果男孩之间的友情铺垫在多点就更有味道了
本来还以为死去的5个冤魂会在结尾现身报仇，事实证明是我想多了。The Grabber的身世从头到尾都没有交代，有点云里雾里。
